Puzzled Escape Rooms Named a Winner in the UK Escape Room Awards 2026
Puzzled Escape Rooms wins a UK Escape Room Award, becoming the only award-winning escape room in Wales this year.
We've got some pretty exciting news to share. Puzzled Escape Rooms has officially been named a winner in the UK Escape Room Awards 2026.
This year's awards received an incredible 2,132 nominations from across the UK, so to be recognised amongst some of the best escape rooms in the country is something we're genuinely thrilled about.
But there's one part we're particularly proud of: Puzzled Escape Rooms is the only escape room in Wales to receive a winner award this year.
When we first started Puzzled, the aim was never simply to build a few rooms, fill them with padlocks and call it an escape room. We've always wanted to create proper experiences - games where the setting, story, puzzles and technology all work together and where, for an hour, you hopefully forget you're actually standing in a building in Taff's Well.
Every escape room at Puzzled is designed and built by us. We're completely independent, we're not part of a franchise and we don't buy pre-designed games. That means we probably spend far too long obsessing over details that players might only interact with for thirty seconds, but it's also a huge part of what makes Puzzled what it is.

From bringing an abandoned ship back to life in Abandon Ship, to trying to stay one step ahead of a rogue artificial intelligence in AI Apocalypse, and heading into space in Going Up, we've always tried to push each new game a little further than the last.
Some of the things we've built have taken months to get right. Others have involved completely ripping apart an idea and starting again because it didn't quite feel right when we played it. There have definitely been moments when we've questioned why we thought building high-tech escape rooms was a sensible idea in the first place.
But then people come out of a room talking about a moment they weren't expecting, a puzzle they loved or something that made the whole group laugh, and that's the bit that makes all of the work worthwhile.
Being recognised in the UK Escape Room Awards makes that feel even more worthwhile. The awards are voted on by experienced escape room players, so receiving an award from people who have played a huge number of rooms around the country means an enormous amount to us.
And yes, we're still probably too British to simply stick a massive sign outside saying "Best Escape Room in Wales".
What we can say is that Puzzled Escape Rooms is now an award-winning escape room in South Wales, recognised in the UK Escape Room Awards 2026 and the only escape room in Wales to receive a winner award this year.
For a small independent escape room just outside Cardiff, that's something we're very proud of.
